Here’s the Official Trailer of Rani Mukherji’s ‘Aiyyaa’. According to Rani, this is by far the craziest film she has worked on in a fun way. She has played a character like no other she has done before, said a source.
In the film, Rani plays a Marathi girl Aiyyaa. She lives with her eccentric family next to a smelly rubbish dump, lost in her dream-like Bollywood fantasy world.
She gets a job at an art college where she meets a soul-mate, a buck-toothed Lady GaGa lookalike, and together they go man-hunting. That’s until Aiyyaa catches the smell of her dream man, follows the scent and finds a hunky Tamil student (played by Prithviraj), who she stalks; much to his annoyance. At the same time her barely sane parents are arranging her marriage to a good, sensible boy, who loves Marathi art cinema and rose-planting. As her dream hunk mysteriously disappears, Aiyya is torn: should she settle for the rose garden?
Directed by Sachin Kundalkar and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18, Aiyya will release October 12th.
