Why Shanghai, the movie, is named so!

Many people are coming out scratching their heads after watching Dibaker Banerjee’s latest movie titled Shanghai, questioning what the hell was all that about without any scene from the Chinese city?

To our uninitiated readers, the movie is named so because few years back out dimwitted politicians had made a declaration that “we’ll make Mumbai better than Shanghai”, not just comparing the two cities, but also trying to make a mockery of their own hollow will power and bureaucratic hurdles, due to which Mumbai will never become as beautiful a city as Shanghai, with all it’s glamorous skyscrapers, sound infrastructure and all that jazz!

Dibaker Banerjee’s movie Shanghai exposes how a nexus between the ruling party, the bureaucrats and the opposition leads to the kind of chaos in people’s lives and how nothing in our falling country is actually going to end up right.

The movie opened to great reviews, but people aren’t exactly used to Dibaker Banerjee’s thought provoking style as evident in the movie. Thankfully now, some of us will have a better idea of that being the only Shanghai India can afford in it’s current dismal state.
