The brainless Rowdy Rathore has completed garnering Rs. 100 Crore at the Box Office. Rowdy Rathore entered the 100 Crore club in it’s second week of running and on the other hand, Shanghai, which had opened up to great reviews is reportedly not gaining momentum from word-of-mouth publicity.
While scriptless Rowdy Rathore, which will become another no-brainer of the sorts of Wanted , Golmaal and Dabangg etc, will prove yet again that star power and maindless action scenes are beginning to rule the roost in Bollywood, the script, which was being hailed as the new hero (Kahaani, Paan Singh Tomar, Vicky Donor, etc), has failed to work this one time in the case of Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai.
Shanghai has managed to collect on 12 crore so far and many people who are not used to Dibaker Banerjee’s style of film-making, are coming out confused and questioning why the movie is even called so when there’s not a single scene in the whole movie of the glamorous Chinese city after which the movie has been named.
Well, do we see a Sonakshi Sinha tom-tomming about “her” second hit and Akshay Kumar making a sort of “comeback” and more producers lining up with mindless action potential blockbusters on the anvil, counting on mere star power and violence? … Sigh… you bet!
