So the final verdict on RA.One has been summed up as high on special effects and CG, and low on story! Shah Rukh Khan’s magnum opus, opened to an 18.5 crore rupees earning on the first day, about 2.5 crores behind the first day collections of his arch rival Slaman Khan’s last release Bodyguard, but word of mouth publicity has made the audience lap it up for the awesome VFX doses in the movie, even as it continued to be criticized badly for the lack of a genuinely interesting script. The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, Arjun Rampal in the title role and Kareena Kapoor as the leading lady.
Though the Rupees 150 crores budget and the too-much-in-your-face promotions have generated quite a steady stream of lines for RA.One’s tickets outside the box-offices across cinema halls, also creditable for the likeness factor is the music, specially Akon’s near perfect Hindi crooning in the chartbuster ‘Chammak challo‘. And seems like all the hard work is going to paid back in generous amounts, even if it does not manage to make or break any records! We wish the film a great business!
