Rensil D’Silva, the writer has finally decided to come up as the Director this year. He will be making his directorial debut with Saif-Kareena-Vivek Oberoi starer and produced under the banner of Dharma Productions.
There is a buzz in the industry about title of the film as , Jihaad. But Rensil denied this rumor. “No…my film is not called Jihaad. It’s a name that the media seems to have given the film but it’s not the official title”, says Rensil
Not much is disclosed about the film yet but Rensil said, “It’s a romantic thriller set against the backdrop of global terrorism.”
There is a strong buzz about Kareena and Saif playing as terrorist but on talking with Rensil he denied to reveal anything to early about the film.
Apart from Saif, Kareena and Vivek Oberoi the film was supposed to star Tara Sharma. However, the actress is due to have her first baby soon and hence had to back out of the project. Minissha Lamba would now be essaying that part. The supporting cast also includes Kirron Kher, Om Puri and some talented new faces.
The film is about 40% complete with shooting in Philadelphia and Delhi very much done and Mumbai shooting is currently underway. The film is planned to be released in the last quarter of 2009.
Film story is written by Karan Johar, Rensil has worked on the screenplay of the film. An interesting new about the film is that this time Dharma production have chosen Salim-Sulaiman for the music instead of their favorites Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
