Mickey Rourke In The Lead Role For Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Hollywood Debut ‘Broken Horses’

Mr. Vidhu Vinod Chopra has series of incredible films under his belt. The director is now set to mark his directorial debut in Hollywood with his first big project ‘Broken Horses‘. His hunt for the lead actor is finally over. The filmmaker has signed Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler). Mickey Rourke has won this year’s Golden Globe for best actor and is also the Oscar contender for his film ‘The Wrestler‘.
Mr. Chopra revelaed that he had seen the special screening of Rourke’s The Wrestler before the awards fever, and he was bowled over with his performance. Both of us had an instant connection when we met in Los Angeles. He also said that, Rourke was his first choice even before he won the Golden Globes Award. It’s really special to have a such great actor working on the board as the key role in the film. Mickey deserves all the acclaim he is getting and I hope he wins the Oscar as well.” said the maverick director.‘Broken Horses‘ is based on the gangster genre with the screenplay based on the original story by Chopra himself. Mark Johnson (of Chronicles of Narnia, The Notebook and Rain Main Frame) is the executive producer of the film, while Chris Buchinsky (Hancock, Spiderman 2)is the story board artist. the film is expected to be shot in New Mexico, New York and Albuquerque.
