Ahmed Khan is all set for his next venture to come. After failing to create the magic on Box Office from his previous movies Lakeer and Fool N Final, the Choroegrapher-Director has come up with Paathshala. With this new venture he has turned as a producer also. Paathshala is being produced by his wife Shaira Khan. Paathshala, as the name suggests, revolves around kids, and is set in a school campus. Patshaala stars Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, Nana Patekar, Sunil Shetty with some child artists.
Ahmed isn’t directing the film, instead, he has entrusted the directorial reins to Milind Uke. The kids finalized for the key roles are Swini [Cheeni Kum], Ali [Fanaa, Ta Ra Rum Pum] and Dwij [Nanhe Jaisalmer], besides several child actors. The promos of the movie are out and yes they are interesting to watch. Promos may recall the days when we were kids and all the fun and enjoyment that we have done on our childhood. The promo has some lines like “a walk down the memory lane” , “we bring back the school spirit”, “if its about our future every question must be answered”. From all these lines and promo it shows about the student-teacher relationship which is a highly emotional subject.
Shahid as you all know is the master of dance but now he has to prove his expertise in Music and English in the film. The story also has a plot of a school kid played by Mehnaaz, who falls in love with her teacher (Shahid). Shahid has managed to touch everyone’s heart with his performance in Jab We Met and Kismat Konnection. Will Shahid can remake the magic again with Paathshala?
Nana Patekar is playing the role of the Principal, and Ayesha Takia is a teacher who looks into the extra curricular activities. Besides them, there is Sushant Singh and Saurabh Shukla in the film as well. Hanif(earlier composed the music for the song “Shakirave Shakira” – Fool N Final) has composed the music of Paathshala. since this movie is based on the relation between school teachers and students it is easily associated to every person. i will definitely watch this movie because it will bring back my old days. with shahid and ayesha the film will prove to be a big success.
Shahid has been always been great with his looks. But I feel he is grown-up now with the kind of films he is doing and that too with good star casts. “Jab we Met” was a turn around for him. Thanks to Kareena Kapoor. Never the less he is working in the Indian Film Industry in his own terms. All the best to him and wish to see this movie in January, 2009.
I think with Ayesha Takia and Shahid Kapoor this movie is a must watch movie. i will definitely watch it as it will bring back our school days.
