India’s most watched dance show Nach Baliye is back with it’s season four, and how! Nach Baliye 4’s first episode was aired on Star Plus, on Friday, 17th Oct, 08 and as expected, the show threw up a lot of action and excitement.
Continuing it’s tradition of making the winners of the previous season as the host of the current one, Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda, Nach Baliye season three winners were seen pumping up the confidence of not one, not two but twelve jodis (couples) as well introducing the brand new judges of the current season.
Riding high on the success of his previous release ‘Rock On’, Arjun Rampal was the first judge to be introduced, followed by ace choreographer and director of last year’s biggest hit ‘Om Shanti Om’, Farah Khan, who danced to the most popular song from her movie, ‘Deewangi Deewangi’. Snippets from her colleagues from the Indian Film Industry were screened where stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone were seen warning the contestants of Farah’s infamous temper. But what followed on the sets of Nach Baliye 4 was something which no Filmfare Awards ceremony or the directors of Bollywood have been able to do in a long time: Karisma Kapoor’s return, to the small screen this time, where she danced to her yesteryear hit’s like ‘LeGayi Le Gayi’ from Dil To Pagal Hai and rounding up her performance with her younger sister Kareena Kapoor’s 2007 chartbuster hit ‘It’s Rocking’. Yes! Lolo is the third judge of Nach Baliye Season Four.
It was time now for the Nach Baliye 4 jodis to set the stage on fire. It’s the first time that the 12 couples are there instead of the regular 10 couples seen till the last season. Nach Baliye 4 first star studded show saw the following 6 couples grooving to hit numbers, while introducing themselves to the nation:
Jodi No. 4 – Naman and Megha
Jodi No. 8 – Mouli and Mazher
Jodi No. 5 – Kapil and Anjali
Jodi No. 6 – Mohit and Aditi
Jodi No. 3 – Teejay and Karanvir
Jodi No. 9 – Jaspal and Savita
Jodi No. 9 of Nach Baliye 4, Jaspal Bhatti and Savita Bhatti are also a part of Nach Baliye’s tradition of having a couple who are about double the age of the rest of the couples, more so as the first such couple Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar won the first season of Nach Baliye. The first episode Nach Baliye 4 rounded off with a smouldering hot performance by sultry siren Bipasha Basu, who danced to her biggest hit since ‘Beedi Jalaile’, i.e ‘Lucky Boy’ from the movie Bachna Ae Haseeno. Lats year, Bipasha appeared as a guest on Nach Baliye season three, to promote her movie Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. And to top it all, Olympic 2008 Bronze medalist, boxer Vijender Singh, whose name was thrown around with that of Bipasha’s after he became a household name, came to the sets of Nach Baliye 4after Bipasha had done talking to Sanjeeda and Amir. And did the two create a picture coup or what!
