Tadka spice – With both Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na dn Love Story 2050 releasing this Friday, the race is already on, yet Aamir Khan wishes well to Harman Baweja too.
Aamir Khan was recently seen talking to media persons regarding the release of his nephew Imran Khan’s debut movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, clashing with the gigantic budget movie Love Story 2050, which marks the debut of producer/director Harry Baweja’s son Harman Baweja. And it was nice to see that even though Aamir Khan didn’t postpone the release of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na on request from good friend Harry Baweja, Aamir wished good luck to both the movies, and said that he hoped Harman Baweja makes a mark too.
Aamir Khan cited to the media persons various examples from the past when two movies released on the same day had gone on to do big business, like Gadar and Lagaan, Welcome and Taare Zameen Par etc. He said that a movie’s release date has nothing much to do with it’s success, and a film would work only if the script was good and the execution was appropriate. Harry Baweja’s fears aren’t exactly unfounded as Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na has been garnering more attraction by the cine-goers, due to it’s more youthful appeal, while Love Story 2050 having some of the best special effects seen so far in any Indian movie seems to have lagged behind.
The reason why Love Story 2050′s credentials might be jeopardised are that the promos haven’t exactly followed the movie’s grand scale itself. With just a few shots of the sci-fi thriller-romance, juxtaposed with teary eyed Harman Baweja’s dialogues, have surely left many of the viewers disappointed, yet the movie’s sci-fi look will draw, probably a majority of kiddo viewers. On the other hand the promos of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na are full of fun and friendship, two things which rule the Indian youth’s mind all the time.
Though the starting seems to be a bit scary, but the race is on and we hope that both the movies turn out to be a great show at the box office, and 4th of July turns out to be another of those dates which brings a smile to the faces of distributors all over the country, the actors and stakeholders in tinselville and above all the audience who will be spending a bomb on the experience of it all. All the best to Love Story 2050 and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na!
