Tadka spice – The media has been writing about the low TRPs of Junoon, which has Hrithik Roshan as it’s brand ambassador, forgetting that the show is above all a tribute to music and not greed.

Picture this: Salman Khan‘s Dus Ka Dum is leading the TRPs these days, of course with the prize money to the tune of 10 crores being offered, followed by Shah Rukh Khan‘s Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? And amidts all this we get to hear that Hrithik Roshan promoting JunoonKuch Kar Dikhane Ka, aired on NDTV imagine, is the lowest in terms of TRPs in the shows thriving on star power. The media couldn’t have been more wrong in mixing the respect for music – the soul of life, to a trait of humans known simply as greed.

While Shah Rukh Khan‘s Paanchvi Pass… and Salman Khan‘s Dus Ka Dum have been grabbing eyeballs majorly because of the fact that they have two of the most prominent film stars leading the shows, besides of course the astronomical amount of money being offered, the media completely forgot two points: Hrithik Roshan‘s promotion for Junoon whichis all about music, shouldn’t have been put in the same league as the other two, which focus entirely on filling up the coffers of ever so money minded humans.

And secondly, Hrithik Roshan, unlike the other two is only a brand ambassador of Junoon. He isn’t hosting the show in the full fledged manner that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have been doing. Junoon‘s host is the flawless, witty and extremely knowledgeable Anu Kapoor and perfectionist Hrithik had decided to be the face of it’s promotional campaigns. And as much as anyone would like to cast aspersions on the star power of Hrithik related to the low TRPs of a show, no one can deny the fact that music is the ultimate soothing power in one’s life, which no amount of money can bring. And of course Hrithik wouldn’t have asked for an oscene amountof money to do so.

So while certain Khans impress the country with their star power, Hrithik Roshan should be happy to be associated with the show that promotes an art so powerful, that it cuts across all classes and divides. Why else would everyone love and stick to the the folk songs sung by it’s participants in a country which speaks endless languages? That’s the power of Junoon, beyond words, beyond appreciation and far beyond the reach of money and TRPs. Period.
