Tadka spice – It’s Rajeev Khandelwal v/s the Bachchans at the Box Office today. Who’ll you go for?
Director Rajkumar Gupta and television star turned film actor Rajeev Khandelwal‘s debut movie Aamir releases today, clashing with Ram Gopal Verma‘s Sarkar Raj, starring the three Bachchans. And it is being termed as a classic case of a movie – Aamir - earning good reviews from all who have seen it pre-release, and another movie - Sarkar Raj - working towards capturing the audience purely on star power and a director, who incidentally lost his touch not so long ago!
While Rajeev Khandelwal starring Aamir is a movie which is about the self-discovery of a boy raised in murky suburbs, and has earned rave reviews from all those who saw it in special pre-release premieres. On the other hand, it is Ram Gopal Verma, along with his casting coup of three Bachchans, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who slug it out in the dirt-fest of Indian politics. Sarkar Raj, sequel to Ramu‘s Sarkar which didn’t have Aishwarya back then, will try to cash in on the buxx it had created at that time, leading to the movie’s big success.
Whatever would be the outcome, it seems like both the movies will get an initial fair share of audiences, considering the fact that the three Bachchans will draw the audiences for obvious reasons, while there are a large amount of those who won’t mind overlooking star power and would go for a debut of a man who drove the nation crazy when he was on the samll screen, in Ekta Kapoor‘s Kahiin To Hoga and Sab TV‘s Left Right Left. The reviews would be out in a couple of hours on shows like Picture This on NDTV 24X7 etc, and surely in the columns of tommorows newspapers.
