Tadka question - Rajeev Khandelwal, the nation’s heartthrob didn’t disappoint you on tv, but what about his big screen foray Aamir? Find out all the answers and more below!

The song ‘Ha Raham‘ from the movie Aamir has a beautiful line ‘Mehfuz har kadam karna aye Khuda‘, and seems like God himself was watching over Rajeev Khadelwal’s debut all this while because even thought it is as much about Khuda’s people on earth, Aamir comes across as a totally hatke film which engrosses you, as well as entertains you. And another way to look at the Raham of Khuda could be that the Hindi Film Industry has got two potential blockbusters this week, with both Aamir and Sarkar Raj earning rave review!

Picture this - A Jaipur lad makes it big on tv, moves to movies yet debuts on the same day when another director with a glorious past and three of India’s biggest superstars come clashing with their movie Sarkar Raj. To top it all, his debut doesn’t have any romance and any songs and not even a leading lady! Kaise phir?…How the hell does director Rajkumar Gupta decide to release the movie alongside the Bachchan family show on the bada purdah, the big screen? That’s because Aamir is simply good cinema, which doesn’t need any crutches or fancywork!

It is the story of a doctor, Aamir Ali who comes to Mumbai from phoren one day, and as soon as he lands at the airport, trouble begins. No family to recieve him. Two persons sped past him throwing a cellphone at him which starts ringing, and as soon as he picks up, he is caught in a web of conspiracy and death. Impending tragedy looms large and the doctor is forced to listen to his tormentors all because of his concern for this city which has gone through countless sanguinary events.

Rajeev Khandelwal’s acting is great. Banda ye bindass hai! As a free running hostage (touche! :p), he is just so captivating. The way he screens each face with suspicion, from the common man on the street to the prostitute waiting for a customer, he just proves that he isn’t one of those actors from television who will waste themselves dancing in the rain in a white sari clad busty heroine! Though some of you might wish big time that Aamna Sharif was somewhere in there ;) The background score by Amit Trivedi is compelling!

Go, watch Aamir! It will move you, and also tell you that all it takes is a good script to get a hit and mak a mark. And as far as ‘Ha Raham‘ is concerned, we hope that Khuda’s Raham keeps getting us all, more of such good movies! ‘Mehfuz har phillum karna aye Khuda‘. Amen! :)
