Tadka spice - This album Khushboo will harm your ears because you’ll be compelled to listen to it’s songs again and again and again…
All right folks! This might be coming a bit late, but better late than never, ain’t it! So here we are, bringing you the music review of Khushboo, with music composed by none other than Adnan Sami, who seems to have shed more than his wieght, coz you just love to listen to him in the songs of Khushboo. If you don’t care to read the whole review, let’s just give it to you in one word: refreshing, but since we have worked hard (yeah right!) on this, please do read it na! The lyrics are by Javed Akhtar and needless to say, they are well-written.
Well, The album kicks off with the refreshingly sweet ‘Kyun Hai Mujhe Lagta‘, sung by composer Adnan Sami and Shreya Ghoshal, and we must say that they have done a fab job in here! The music just grows on you, and you wish that ‘Kyun Hai Mujhe Lagta‘ would never end (just like it’s last one minute, which goes on and on). Never mind, if you are left feeling “Kyun Hai Mujhe Lagta, ke ye gaana kuch zyada hi sweet hai”, then Adnan Sami is at fault! Haha!
Warning: Please don’t blame us if you are forced to put on your dancing shoes after you listen to ‘Dil Ye Kahe‘ from Khushboo. The second song is arguably the best song of the whole album. The song ‘Dil Yeh Kahe‘ has been rocking the charts these days and the lyrics as well as singing by Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan is mind-blowing. Adnan sure knows how to get the mood, and the work by the chorus here is commendable, one in a long time.
‘Kya Hai Sochti Tu‘ the third song from Khusboo, is rocking from the word go. Although a bit on the comical side, the music just gets you from the first second itself, and Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal will make you literally ask for more. Wonder where from Javedsaab gets those amazing lines, which just go right with the theme of the song. We just hope that with Saroj Khan choreographing some of Khushboo’s songs, this one will turn out to be a treat to watch, in case she is making the newcomers dance in this one too!
‘Tum Jo Mile Humko‘ is a tough song to write about. Why? Because we have used all the nice words and appreciation for the songs mentioned above, and we don’t know what to write about this one! Well, what about saying that Adnan Sami and Mahalaxmi Iyer catch the soul of romance just right and never let it go. Adnan Sami is surely one hell of a composer to watch out for in the future. And they are once again accompanied by the great pauses and chorus effects, and of course awesome lyrics.
Udit Narayan will almost make you think of Hrithik Roshan in ‘Badi Albeli Hai Tu‘, which is a fast and peppy number, and perhaps is the only one you might not return to, thanx to ’suggestive’ lyrics. But on the whole, it keeps you going with the flirtatious tone and the fast flow of music. Sunidhi Chauhan is lovable once again.
For all those who are deeply (/-hurt) in love, ‘Paake Tujhe‘ from Khusboo will keep the playlists busy. The music by Bappi Lahiri, lyrics by Dr. Deepak Dhusia will defintely get on you, but not as much as the now trademark awesome voice of KK. Let him bring those memories back in this beautiful melodious track.
With ‘Kisme Kitna Hai Dum‘ as the last song, Javed Akhtar and Adnan Sami make an impressionable exit and the song’s definitely gonna be a hit with the masses. Because Amit Kumar, backed with a superb chorus gives you a powerful number, though the music before the antaraas could have been better had it been a fast score. But, it’s the mukhda which takes your attention all the way!
Well, dudes and dudettes, we have reviewed enough and it’s time now to check out the album itself. The original soundtrack is out on Dhol Music, and you must must must buy it, not just because you are never gonna regret it, but because the album comes with not one, not two, not three but FOUR Remix tracks, by Dj G & Earl, DJ Amyth and Eric Pillai. And no, they aren’t just any remixes, you are definitely gonna enjoy them!
So folks, here’s wishing you all, a Khushboo-daar happy listening!
