Tadka question - Have you been really waiting for one introspective take on the men who gaurd us? If yes, Shaurya is the answer .. and the best one!

What’s with great movies and bad promotion? Coz Samar Khan’s Shaurya might not have caught your eye while watching television, but in case you go an watch this movie, which you must, it will surely catch your imagination. Samar Khan’s Shaurya is a refreshingly fresh take on the lives of a few good men, who protect the country. It delves deep into the lives of a handful of characters who are from the Indian military, and throws up a finely crafted movie.

Shaurya is the story of a few characters, one of them being Rahul Bose, who is an escapist. And when he discovers the valour one fine day, he is left in a motley of tarred emotions and personalities alike. Rahul Bose, is as expected, in a great performance and once again proves his mettle. Then we have Minissha Lamba, who plays a journalist, who fights the question of truth wherever she goes, and poses a threat to the hollow moralities of those around her. Minissha does well, but you wish you could see more of her.

The courtmartial drama is the story of friends Jaaved Jaffery and Rahul Bose, who play the prosecutor and the defence attorney respectively, to a cadet who is charged guilty of a murder. Jaaved is at his best again, playing a character who lives by the rules. But the ultimate powerhouse performer is, you guessed it right, Kay Kay Menon, who not only gives the perfect touch to the character he portrays, but also gives you a shocking finale act when the climax turns up. Kay Kay is the most memorable peice out of Shaurya which you will definitely take back home.

More than the individual efforts, it is the combination of all these which makes Shaurya a must-watch. The drama unfolds in The Valley (Kashmir) and of course you have the mandatory add-ons that such a background brings with itsekf. Samar Khan must be praised for bringing out such a fine story with such finesse, though at places some things get out of pace too. All in all, Tadka verdict is that if you have ever wanted to know the lesser known facets of our protectors, go watch it. Enjoy!
