Tadka spice - Your wish is granted! Coz Amitabh Bachchan plays the genie in an upcoming venture, Alladin.

Bound Script and Eros International are delving into the world of not just Arabian Nights, but the growing Indian market for kids’ movies too. Or so it seems, because one of their forthcoming projects is an adaptation of Alladin, which is being directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

Alladin stars Amitabh Bachchan, alon with Riteish Deshmukh and Sanjay Dutt. No brownie points fo guessing that Riteish Deshmukh plays Alladin, and Sanjay Dutt plays the meanie. And interestingly, Sanjay Dutt is called Ring Master in the movie. The movie Alladin is a modern-day take on the famous story of Alladin and the magic lamp, and considering the fact that many Indians of the past decade and more, have grown up watching it, the production house has a huge target audience.

The movie would be having a lot of special effects and action scenes and would be done to make it’s audiences laugh and smile all along. No wonder the producers have cast Amitabh Bachchan to play the Genie, because his would have been the first name that would come to your mind for the character, thanks especially to his deep baritone voice. As for Riteish Deshmukh, (with all due respect) playing a poor adventurous guy would suit his rugged looks and well-built physique.

As for Sanjay Dutt, he has got a lot to take from this movie as some of his attempts have failed to get him kiddo fans, especially Life! Ho Toh Aisi. The stakes are pretty much high for all the leading stars, but none as much as for the producers who would have to match up to the success the 2-D animated series got when it came to India in it’s dubbed avatar. There is also speculation about Abhishek Bachchan playing a role in the movie.

With all this talking, one wonders who plays Jasmine? We hope it’s Priyanka Chopra, for her looks and image fit the bill perfectly, but for the confirmed news, you’ll have to keep reading. Tadka lagate raho!
