Hindi cinema is popular for the myriad emotions that are put in a single frame. And what better than Holi, to bring together two contrasting sites of the movie. The song ‘Aaj na chodenge‘ from Kati Patang, is one of the most memorable Holi songs. ‘Aaj na chodenge‘ from Kati Patang had lyrics by Anand Bakshi, which gave him a Filmfare nomination. The lyrics of ‘Aaj na chodenge‘ bring forth the sadness of a widow, played by Asha Parekh, and the joyful nature of Rajesh Khanna who prompts her to forget everything and join in the celebrations. The singing by Kishore Kumar, fixed him as the voice of Rajesh Khanna in movies, and Lata Mangeshkar as usual manages to flawlessly change the mood of the song from happy to grim! We hope you enjoy RD Burman’s music, as well as the manner in which he brought together the two contrasting colours of life, on what else but the festival of Holi.
Please play Holi with natural colours, and refrain from using any type of dyes, grease and water balloons, as these can cost you a lot, and please protect your eyes well. We hope you have a safe and smiling Holi
