Well if you are on of those who has grown up listening to the songs of A R Rahman, here’s the Holi song which comes from Mangal Pandey: The Rising. ‘Dekho aayi holi‘ from Mangal Pandey is Rahman to the core. The beats of ‘Dekho aayi holi‘ are so terrific, that for once you feel as if the colours themselves would dance to this song. And what works for the song is the fact that not only does Aamir Khan goes into playback mode once again, but he has a superb team of singer supporting him in ‘Dekho aayi holi‘ from Mangal Pandey, them being Chinmayee, Srinivas, Madhushree, Udit Narayan. The first three names might not be much popular today, but they give this song their all. And needless to say, Rahman gives you a reason once again to beleive that he indeed is the music maestro. Javed Akhtar plays with words which are very different than most of other Holi songs. Combine all of them, and you are sure that this is one song which you wanna play on each Holi-day. So, go on! Dance with the colours of Rahman!
