oh sohniye, maar sutteya…

kitna pyaara waada…

kitna pyaara waada hai, in matwali aankhon ka
iss masti mein soojhe na, kya kar daalun hai
mohe sambhaal…

o saathiya, o beliyaa…

kitna pyaara waada hai. in matwali aankhon ka
iss masti mein soojhe na, kya kar daalun hai
mohe sambhaal…

ho ujaala, ya andhera…
kahin na chhoote, haath mera…
koi mera na, tere bin…
piya nibhaana, saath mera…
arre, kora kora, gora gora, ye ang tora, hai
pagal, mohe, bana, diya…

kitna pyaara waada hai, in matwali aankhon ka
iss masti mein soojhe na, kya kar daalun hai
mohe sambhaal…

barson maine, mann jalaya…
mili palkon ki, tab ye chhaya…
kaante mere, tann mein toote…
gale se tune, tab lagaya…
ho saiyaan pyaare, chalta ja re, baiyaan daare, hoye
garva, tohe, lagaa, liya…

kitna pyaara waada hai, in matwali aankhon ka
iss masti mein soojhe na, kya kar daalun hai
mohe sambhaal…

roz uthake, ye nayanva…
chhua karungi, tora manva…
jaise pehli, baar chaaha…
sadaa chaahungi, aye sajanva…
hai, tere naina. mere naina. fir kya kehna, hai
kya kya, na maine, paa, liya…

kitna pyaara waada hai, in matwali aankhon ka
iss masti mein soojhe na, kya kar daalun hai
mohe sambhaal…

o saathiya, o beliyaa…

kitna pyaara waada hai, in matwali aankhon ka
iss masti mein soojhe na, kya kar daalun hai
mohe sambhaal…

o saathiya, o beliyaa…

o saathiya, o beliyaa…

If you have ever heard the song ‘Kitna pyaara wada hai‘ from the movie Caravan, then you are bound to have listed it as one of your favourites. ‘Kitna pyara wada hai‘ from Caravan has the great combination of music director R.D. Burman, lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri, and two of the greatest of all singers Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi. What will bowl you over in the song ‘Kitna pyaara wada hai’ is the fact that there is an underlying sense of innocencse and pure love in the magical combination that these legends brought us. The lyrics are absolutely mesmerising and a gem to listen to. The song talks about a relation which should never end, a longing that ended for the best and a love which will remain fresh forever. Lataji and Rafisahab have sung it so well, that the feelings of two young lovers overwhelms you throughout the song. Perhaps such songs which talk about the love in each other’s eyes are all it take to make an evening wonderful, though there are other great songs too which talk about love and eyes. If love is a dish, then this Tadka is highly recommended, so much so, that ‘Kitna pyaara wada hai‘ from Caravan should be made compulsory listening! Enjoy!

What a song!! What a period it was.1971. RD in his full swing. Caravan is definitely one of his best. Such a breezy and lilting song like Kabhi kabhi aisa bhi tho, sung by Rafi and Lata from Waris (1969) another hit of RD
