Tadka spice – While many of our readers would be surprised on this short poem’s lyrics, we are sure that you’ll rediscover it’s beauty once you listen to this background score number from Guru.
sansanee naavelon ka…
ye ishq ke baavalon ka…
sansanee naavelon…
ye ishq ke baavalon…
barf se…
khelte…
baadalon ka…
shauk hai…
raat ka… shauk hai….
raat ki… saundhi si….
khamoshi ka…
shauk hai….
ho… shauk hai…
subha ki… raushni…
bezubaan subha ki o gungunati
raushni ka… shauk hai…
ho… shauk hai…
ho… shauk hai…
Sowmya Rao may have sung a lot of numbers which became immensely popular in her career. But when ahe teamed up with A.R. Rahman to give her voice to these magically beautiful lines, little could she have known that this ‘song’, if one may call it so, would add a gem of an effect to the background score of Guru. The lyrics by Gulzar, were used to portray the dreams of a character dying too early for her age, played by Vidya Balan, and explored her various shauks (hobbies), right from reading sensational novels, to the silent freshness of the morning sunrays. The song might be short, but it leaves you asking for far much more. After all, life’s best things come in small packages! Enjoy

This is not the starting of the song :
the song goes like this:
Raat ka shauk hai (I aspire of the night)
Raat ki saundhi si khamoshi ka (That earthen silence of the night)
Shauk hai (I aspire)
Subha ki roshni (That light of the morning)
Bezubaan subho ki aur gungunati (Humming toward the mum morning)
Roshni ka Shauk hai, ho shauk hai (I aspire of light, oh…I aspire)
San sani anwlon ka (Of those pungency of amlas (I aspire to taste))
Ke ishq ke banwlon ka (Of those crazyness of the lovers (I aspire to have))
San sani anwle (Those pungent amlas)
Ke ishq ke banwle (Those crazy lovers)
Barf se khelte badolon ka (Of those clouds playing with the ice)
Shauk hai (I aspire (to touch))
Kaash ye zindagi Khel hi khel mein kho gayi hoti
I wish this life were a child’s play
Raat ka shauk hai
I aspire of night
Neend ki goliyon ka
Of those sleeping peels (I aspire)
Khwab ke loriyon ka
Of those lullabies of dreams (I aspire to listen)
Neend ki goliyan
Those sleeping peels
Khwab ke loriyan
Those lullabies of dreams
Bezubaan aus ki boliyon ka
Of those (unsaid) words of mum dews (I aspire to listen)
Shauk hai
I aspire
Kaash ye zindagi binkahe binsune so gayi hoti
I wish this life had gone to sleep without saying or listening anything
Subha ki roshni
That light of the morning
Bezubaan subho ki aur gungunati
Humming toward the mum morning
Roshni ka Shauk hai, ho shauk hai
I aspire of light, oh…I aspire
Everywhere on the internet people have copied the same stupid version of the lyrics. (I’m talking about the person who’s trying to correct Simranjeet with the same thoughtlessly copied pasted lyrics.)
It’s not Sansani AawaloN ka (How can aawla bhi sansaneekhez? !!) … it’s “Sansani noveloN ka ” : meaning “Sensational/thriller novels”.
yup! true, Gulzar sahab ki lyrics ki kyon maar rahe ho?
