Tadka question – With a team of composers that comprises of various artists from different backgrounds, is the music of Sunday going to manage a good scorecard, or will too many cooks spoil the broth? Please click on ‘Read more’ to view the complete music review of the movie Sunday.

Variety is the spice of life, and the movie Sunday too. The movie’s music score is a concoction of six composers, all of whom have enthralled the listeners many times in the past. The album kicks off with the mint fresh title song ‘Missing Sunday‘. Sung by Mahua Kamat, Suraj, Earl Edgar, with lyrics by Farhad Sajid, the song is a nice track to listen to, but the lyrics are specific to the movie’s theme and that’s why the listeners will have to wait till they see the movie to truly get the meaning of the english lines. The music of this song is given by Sandeep Chowta.

The second track of the album ‘Pyar to hona hi tha‘ has music by Pakistani band Suroor‘s members M.Ali and Kami, and they have given a beautiful touch to the song, not to forget the very enjoyable guitar strings that take off the song. The song has been sung by Kamran Bari and Mohammad Ali, with lyrics by Kamran Bari. But the beauty of the song lies in the fact that it manages to grow on you with each passing moment, thanks to the beautiful composition.

The third track is ‘Loot liya‘, which has been sung by Punjabi pop sensation Daler Mehndi and the reigning queen of versatility Sunidhi Chauhan. Daler Mehndi not just composed the music of the song but also teamed up with Farhad Sajid for providing the lyrics of this song. It’s a fun track and provides another dimension to the album full of surprises.

Kashmakashsung by Shibani Kashyap is the next track which has music by the singer herself, and lyrics by Virag Mishra. The song might be a passable one as the lyrics have a dark edge to them and the music too is not something new. Seems like if Shibani herself wouldn’t have done the music of this song, it would have been a bit better. The lyrics indulge in verbosity lending that boring feeling to the song after a point.

Mahua Kamat of the now broken up female pop band Viva, teams up once again with Suraj and Earl Edgar for the songManzar‘, but the surprise of ths song is that the music of the song has been composed by the two-albums old pop singer Raghav Sachar, (whose current album ‘Play It Loud’ is creating huge waves on all radio stations because of the beautiful fusion touch to it’s songs). The lyrics have been given by Farhad Sajid once again and are quite good, not to forget the music itself which is good too.

Finally we have the ‘Sunday theme sung by Joy-Clint, with music given by Amar Mohile and lyrics by Joy. The track has been used in the first look promos of the movie and has a funky touch. Apart from these, the album has three remixes; the song ‘Missing Sunday’ has been remixed by Tanay-Gaurav, so has been the song ‘Pyar to hona hi hai’. DJ Suketu revs up the album with the remix version of ‘Kashmakash’ and all in all the album has quite a lot of musical spices and the tadka is quite hot too. We hope our readers too love the album! (And our readers can request for the lyrics of any song, from any movie by leaving us a comment.) Enjoy!
