Tadka spice: Perfectionist Aamir Khan does it once again, and surprises you with his first look on his directorial debut. Click on ‘Read more’.

If Madhuri Dixit’s comeback vehicle Aaja Nachle is creating a buzz these days, then she’s got competition, for it is none other than Aamir Khan who is back after the disastrous but hit Fanaa, this time not just as an actor but a director and a producer as well! Aamir Khan’s directorial debut was one of the most awaited movies of this year, as the perfectionist getting behind the camera was an event to watch out for. And he has named his first movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’, which will release on 21st December.

Here we are, presenting you the review of the first look of ’Taare Zameen Par’. The promo kicks off with the mint-fresh signature logo ad of Aamir Khan Productions, about which we will talk later. After the ‘PVR Pictures presents’ has rolled, we get to see the lead kid star of the movie, and then shots from his school life, playing and prancing around with his friends, and the lyrics in the background very aptly capturing the moods of a child’s school life. The lyrics go:

Dekho inhe ye hain,
Osson ki boondein
Patto ki god mein ye
Aasmaa se koode
Angdaayi lein fir
Karvat badal kar
Naazuk se moti
Hass dein fissal kar
Kho na jaayein ye
Taare zameen par

( take a look at them,
For they are,
The mist that you’ll find,
Undulating on the leaves,
Dropped from the skies,
Stretching with the morning yawn
Then rolling over
These delicate pearls
Slip and break into a laugh
Take care for these stars
Might be lost on land)

When a revered actor like Aamir Khan does something, it’s got to be different, and that is why the trailer shows so many children, engaged in a range of everyday work. There’s laughter, joy, and many other shades of a child’s life in this promo. And you also get to see Aamir Khan himself right in the end, sitting with his arms folded and head resting on them, on a classroom bench, doing what else but mulling over some thoughts, staring at what looks like a canvas, with the child star at a bench ahead of him. Getting the focus away from himself top a bunch of kids who are hardly known, is an idiosyncrasy which could be done only by the likes of Aamir Khan.

And now we’ll talk about the logo of Aamir Khan Productions. The logo is a lower-case alphabet ‘a’, which moves throughout the short ad, with what seems like the 5 elements of space beautifully reflected in it, catching every nuance of the great actor’s vision. It starts with an orange hue reflecting fire, moves on to catch what seems like water and then a very refulgent sky (wind), and finally earth is captured by the movement of sand particles in an hourglass like manner. We must say, that the creator has kept it simple yet incorporated the whole universe in the few seconds which appear before ‘aamir khan productions’ comes written across the screen. And it’s not the just the visuals, it’s the sounds as well which play with the viewer’s imagination, with a very sanguine tone, capturing the vicissitudes of emotions. Well, we wish Aamir Khan all the best with this directorial debut of his, and surely it’s one movie which no one would wish to miss!
