Tadka question: What is special about the Jodhaa Akbar theatrical ad? What will leave you spell bound on watching this theatrical promo? Click on ‘Read More’ to know.
Once again, we bring you the exclusive first look of one of the most awaited movies, Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa-Akbar. The promos are out in all the leading cinema halls across the country and you can get a sneak peek at it, once you go for watching the current blockbuster at a screen near you.
Talking about the richness shown in the promo, perhaps Devdas was the last movie which would have stood competition to Jodha-Akbar in this regard. Each and every second of the Jodhaa-Akbar promo is filled with lavishness and grandeur. Hrithik Roshan not only looks magnificent as a Mughal emperor, he is given fierce competition by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who looks not just flawlessly beautiful, but also her scenes where she wields a sword, leave you asking for more. And as far as the chemistry between Hrithik and Aishwarya is concerned, well, it is very much there, clearly shown in every scene, be it the veil sliding between the two lovers or the one where their faces are so close that you would be forgiven for expecting a kiss, though this time it is confirmed there isn’t one in the movie. And when Aishwarya as Jodhaa tells her husband Akbar ‘aap yuddh karke fateh karna jaante hain, raj karna nahi…’ (You just know how to conquer, but you don’t know how to rule), she makes herself clear as a strong lady, who won’t just sit there and let things happen, as she has got a point too.
Right from the first shot where you see a couple taking ’feras’ (marriage vows) around the holy fire, till the very last visual of Hrithik in his armour, each and every second is worth watching out for. The costumes are lavish, and you will get to see enough zardosi and Rajasthani motifs on the apparel of the leading star cast, not to mention their jewellery, each and every part of which is real, as per director Ashutosh Gowariker’s order, for the sake of authenticity. Designer Neeta Lulla has done a lot of research and hard work in order to get the look of her leading stars right. The real life replica of the forts and palaces leave you spell bound. And A.R. Rahman’s music which runs in the background touches every aspect of the movie, from conspiracy and love, to war and celebrations. The war scenes look so impressive that you would’t like to watch them anywhere else but on the big screen. The supporting star cast stands out in their lines itself, be it Kulbhushan Kharbanda or Sonu Sood but it is Ila Arun who seems to have got the best lines as far as this promo is concerned. Just notice her voice when she tells a baffled Jodhaa that her deal had taken place. Even the Hindu-Muslim tension is captured in the trailer till the final seconds, where the name Jodhaa appears written in Hindi (representing the Hindu language) and Akbar appeara written in Urdu (representing the Muslim language).
And Jodhaa-Akbar will vie for a record by having released 1215 trailers across the country. The movie which was supposed to be released in October has been shifted to 25th January, 2008. But seems like the wait will be worth it. And just like ‘Azeem-O-Shaan Shahenshah’ Hrithik says in the opening scenes of the trailer, probably no other movie would like to be released near to this one because the movie is ready for conquering the Box Office or as he said “Humle ke liye tayaar.”
