Aankhon mein teri…
Ajab si, ajab si, adaayein hain
Ho…
ankhon mein teri…
ajab si, ajab si, adaayein hain
Dil ko bana dein jo patang
Saansein ye teri vo hawaayein hain

Aankhon mein teri…
Ajab si, ajab si, adaayein hain
Ho…
ankhon mein teri…
ajab si, ajab si, adaayein hain
Dil ko bana dein jo patang
Saansein ye teri vo hawaayein hain

Aayi aisi raat hai jo
Bohat khush-naseeb hai
Chaahe jisse door se duniya
Vo mere kareeb hai
Kitna kuch kehna hai
Fir bhi hai dil mein sawaal kaheen
Sapnon mein jo roz kaha hai
wo phir se kahun Ya nahee

Aankhon mein teri
Ajab si, ajab si, adaayein hain
Ho…
ankhon mein teri
ajab si, ajab si, adaayein hain
Dil ko bana dein jo patang
Saansein ye teri vo hawaayein hain

Tere saath saath aisa
Koi noor aaya hai
Chaand teri raushni ka
Halka sa ik sayaa hai
Teri nazron ne dil ka kiya jo hasharr
Asarr ye hua
Ab inmein hi doobke ho jaaun paar
Yehi hai dua

Aankhon mein teri
Ajab si, ajab si, adaayein hain
Ho…
ankhon mein teri
ajab si, ajab si, adaayein hain
Dil ko bana dein jo patang
Saansein ye teri vo hawaayein hain

Song analysis – simplicity is in. and we are not talking about furniture here! Well, Vishal-Shekhar have done a beautiful job by letting the beat take the back seat, and allowing the vocals to take charge. The music is melodious, and the use of instruments has been simply great. Singer K.K. has proven once again that when it comes to versatility, you need not look any further than him. The song might not seem to be much of a thing initially, but for those die-hard romantics, its beautiful lyrics will make them lay back and enjoy the sheer poetry with their eyes closed. The music just grows on you, and it is one of those rare songs you could listen to again and again and again… And when the ‘antara’ begins, the music just turns even more melodious. Vishal-Shekhar have done a commendable job by keeping the interludes simple and in sync with the flow of melody in the song. The song can be expected to stay in public memory for long. And use of words like ‘hasharr’, ‘noor’, ‘khush-naseeb’ etc. just proves that lyrics are indeed the best part of the music. (So even as Javed saab claims that he was explicitly asked to write ‘stupid lyrics’, you can be assured that this is not the one). The song expresses the lover’s feelings of being with a star very beautifully, and lauds her beauty to be far better than that of the moon. Aaahhh!! Who else but Javed Akhtar could have done this magic. So our readers can now go ahead and enjoy the mesmerizing song!
